Touratech-Repair Page
This page is used to post pictures for Touratech/others to look at such that we can talk about changes to be made to the bike and fixing problems that modifications/crashes have caused. You can click on any photo (or right click to download) for higher resolution.

www.asv-usa.com, after
the crash it didn't break! it was supposed to bend out of the way but the
handguard was in the way.
Instead it bent but was usable. This is made from a single piece of CNC
aluminum. This is not for Touratech - just thought that you would be interested
to see this. It requires a shortening of the clutch cable. If you did read this
- I'd like to get a status on the Magura Hydraulic Clutch conversion that I saw
in the shop for the F650 Touratech Rallye/Schalber.
Photo - Bremsen Kabel - routing problem
The cable routing and clamp mechanisms on the 230mm USD WP are
different that the 250mm USD WP on the rallye bike.
I got this suspension first and there are big rubber rings that allow too much
cable slack and they also interfere with turning the handlebars lock-to-lock
(i.e. full turns). I've highlighted the problem areas here. Please look at the
following picture in the link from the R900RR to see what I think we can do to
make this better. Even on the Rallye bike it is not the best way that I think it
could be.

Photo - Skewed Cockpit
Because I couldn't find my body panels (they were in storage) I rode the bike without them. In the crash the cockpit got shifted to the side. It was already like this but now it is much worse. If you look at the two lines you can see the degree of severity.
1. Change the cockpit to the dual headlight setup
of the TT39
2. Use the front fender setup from the Rallye bike as I have the 230mm USD WP
suspension

This is just another picture so that you can see the separation between the fender mounting plate and the cockpit.

The rubber grommet that routes the brake cable interferes with
the roadbook. It affects the steering in slow and full turn situations.
Not good, we really need to change something here. Again the suspension is 230mm
USD WP. Again please look at R900RR pictures as the install there looks very
clean with nice tight cable ties, teflon routing clamps, etc.

Question - is there a cleaner way to do this? I want to put a
Scotts Steering Damper on this bike and on the Rallye bike.
Have you done the mounting of the Magura differently? Can I use Scott's bar
mounting equipment?
Photo - Upside down Magura 312

I've never been able to get the Magura 312 to go on any way but upside down. It interferes with the front brake fluid reservoir. The picture on the R900RR (of course a different bike) is easier to get at the change control). A picture that I took on your Rallye bike a long time ago shows it mounted like on the R900RR. What is my problem that I can't mount it on the F650GS Dakar that I'm converting?

Question - does it look like I cut it off too close?
