France - Touratech 1st Travel Event - Campground

There was a threat of rain which never materialized, however since it was early spring the grass was very tall and wet. This wasn't my ideal spot for a campground as I prefer terrain that's not in the high weeds nor in the middle of a virgin field, however were were set up at the local campground for the town of Orange so that's where we were.

These pictures were taken early in the rally so it's not full but you can see that even early on the turnout was quite good. They only thing that could have been better is if we had real showers, cleaning, and washing facilities. Six toilets and no showers for 250 motorcyclists does not make for a pretty sight (or smell) by the end of the weekend. It was shampoo in the sink followed by a quick tooth brushing campaign then escaping the restroom for me!

Welcome! Find a spot, anywhere will do.

See how high the grass was! My allergies were killing me here as everything was in bloom.

This was my spot. My two person BMW Adventure Line tent is behind the 'flying pumpkin'
or 'Das Pumpkin Motorrad' as this TT rallye bike became to be known.
The couple next to me were about my age from central Germany, everybody had a good time
walking around checking out each other's bikes. Some more than others though as they spoke German!

The mess hall was upstairs in a big building and was loud!
The food was awesome African food cooked by a native chef.
It was a delight for the senses all around.
