Day 2 - Ride

Day 2 was basically a long dual-sport ride. Jimmy got us up and going with a few basic drills then plotted a course, then another one, then another one. If sometimes he was lost (only appearing so), he would just take some navigational clues then head us off in another direction.

Both he and Heather knew the riding area well and lead us into the backcountry via power line roads then up and down some valleys and gullies. The terrain ranged from technical with lots of rocks to wide open and sandy.

A typical view from our riding area featured some neat low mountains and plenty of scrub brush.

The trails that Jimmy took us on varied from flat out to rocky and technical sometimes it got really fun.
Roderick took this picture of me coming down from a pass where it was rocky and all single track.

Just when we were hungry and thought that Jimmy would leave us to starve in the middle of the desert,
we popped out into Baker California and rolled up to the "Mad Greek"

Everybody was super happy to be able to get some chow. That's Jimmy and Heather on the right,
and Mark in the foreground. The food was good and it was nice to get some shade.
