R900RR controls- Detailed Photos from the 2001 Barcelona Motorcycle show
Picture 1 - Pilot's view of the cockpit and controls
The control setup of the bike was good to see up close. Notice
the rallymaster controls on the left
and the throttle cable control on the right. More closeups follow, keep reading!
Picture 2 - Left grip - setup
The clutch is Magura hydraulic actuated retrofitted to the BMW
specially.
Light, horn, and cutoff controls are via a CEV switch to the right of the
cylinder.
I don't know what the switch underneath the rallymaster buttons does, any ideas?
Picture 3 - CEV control on left grip
Here you can see the CEV switch up close. I'm sorry that the
focal point is not correct.
This is a nice, compact switch which all pro-rallyists have.
It's much more compact than BMW's OEM control so I'm also adding to my bike.
Picture 4 - Magura hydraulic clutch, lever
From the side you can see the distance adjuster on the clutch
and the notch cut on the lever which is standard.
Picture 5 - Right grip
Shown here is the Magura 312 throttle cable assembly. It
allows quick switch of
throttle cable without complete disassembly of the grips.
Picture 6 - Magura 312 throttle control and starter switch
This is a closeup of what turns out is the engine start switch
and the Magura 312.
There was another button like this mounted on the side of the frame which I
thought was a kill
switch, I pressed it lightly and the bike attempted to 'start' - a complete
suprise to me and everyone around me!
Note the drop down switch inbetween the two. I like the mounting hardware but what does it do?
